High Level Design

Allocate logical to physical This is generally the hand off point from systems engineering to design engineering. Design engineering uses discipline specific tools to do its work whether hardware, software, architectural or mechanical.

Iteration

The physical architecture is handed off to the various design groups which analyze it for feasibility.


If problems are found then there is an iteration back to systems engineering where requirements are reviewed and renegotiated to arrive at a system which can be implemented. This process repeats over the lifecycle of the system
