Design

Design is describing, with standard artifacts, something desired which did not previously exist that can be produced by some standard process. It is distinguished from art by the standard artifacts. Both art and engineering design use tools but the engineer has constraints on the form of his artifacts. They are intended to minimize the interpretation effort of the down stream developer. Engineering Designers use the following concepts to analyze their requirements and produce their designs.
